This is Buck-Tick's first single where both the A-side and B-side have the same songwriters.

The original title for "Rokugatsu No Okinawa" was "Golgatha No Oka" (Knoll of Golgatha). In the song, the lyrics never mention Okinawa. Nonetheless, this is one of the very few songs that mentions a prefecture. (The other would be "Tokyo" from Taboo which is technically a metropolis, not a prefecture.)

"Dress" was later used as the theme song for the cartoon show "Trinity Blood" and the single was repackaged and released for the show in 2005. The sales and chart performance did not do well but many international fans became familiar with the band because of the use of the song in the show.

The music video was directed by Wataru Hayashi. After working with other directors for 3 videos in a row, the band returned to work with Wataru Hayashi. the Out of all the video directors that Buck-Tick has worked with, Wataru has worked with the band the most.
